Located on a 5-acre property in Takanini, South Auckland, Qualified Pet Services (QPS) has cared for pets since 1993. Dogs board individually in spacious kennel rooms with private covered outdoor runs and no group play — well suited to dogs that settle better with structured, calm handling. QPS also operates New Zealand's longest-running MPI-approved quarantine facility for pets arriving from overseas, and offers a door-to-door pick-up and drop-off service across central Auckland.

We recently had our dog Evita stay at Qualified Pet Services for her 10-day quarantine, and we are very grateful for the care she received. Our journey to New Zealand involved several unexpected delays, including a postponed rabies titre test and later some laboratory results from Germany arriving later than anticipated. This meant Evita’s travel date had to be changed more than once. Throughout this process, the team was flexible and accommodating, which we truly appreciated during what was already a stressful time. Alison, in particular, was incredibly helpful, patient, and always quick to respond to my emails. As a pet owner managing this process from overseas, that level of communication meant a great deal. Most importantly, Evita was well cared for during her stay, and we are thankful to the team for helping bring her safely through quarantine so she could finally be reunited with me in New Zealand. Amazing service! I left my dog with QPS for a month and I am very happy with the service. They are very helpful, i was out of the country but was still able to do video calls and check on my pet. The facilities are very spacious and well maintained as well. Highly recommended.

QPS handled the quarentine of our Edo when we moved to New Zealand. They kept us updated with photos and looked after him really well. This was an extremely stressful time for us and knowing he was being looked after so well really helped. I’d highly recommend using QPS! Here’s a photo of Edo safely in Auckland!

My dog, Luna, did quarantine at QPS and I also chose them as my ongoing boarding facility while in Auckland. The team were so lovely and took such great care of her. Luna would get so excited when told she was going to boarding and had the best time during her staycations (loved the photo updates!). Thank you so much QPS! My dog is staying here for 6 months before forwarding to Australia. I'm very grateful that the care takers at QPS take good care of my dog and let her roam around the vicinity whenever possible to get some fresh air. Appreciate the good communication and regular updates about my dog.
