Top Dogs is a dog day stay and grooming salon on Marua Road in Ellerslie, central Auckland, open weekdays from just after 7am to 6pm. The team takes a hands-on approach, mixing calm stimulation with energetic play to help dogs build skills and socialise. It runs as a regular daycare rather than a casual drop-in — dogs attend at least three days a fortnight — and every new dog completes an orientation day followed by a five-visit settling-in period. A full-service grooming salon and online calendar booking round out the offering.

Loved the phone service and time to fit us in today, down to Dasha coming out to our van to trim and all the information on how to maintain. Booked our dog for a full groom and had the most amazing experience. Staff were really understanding, friendly and kind, groomer was really skilled and made our pupper feel super comfortable during the haircut. Even came home with a little bandana. Can’t wait to book our next full groom 💕

Ange and her team deserves more than 5 stars as they’re simply the best. professional and they all genuinely care for your dogs well being ❤️ Our dog loves coming to day care and comes home happy and clean 🫶🏽 I love that they celebrate occasions and would have pawty in the day care - like valentines, halloween, easter and christmas! There’s photo and instagram updates. They also offer other services ie nail trimming, grooming, one on one walks , adventure walks etc. Just wanted to say thank you Top Dog Day Stay Team

I want to thank the team at Top Dogs Day Stay for the recent grooming they did on Stormy and Benji. It started with a consultation as to what I thought needed doing, and then they gave some ideas and I left them to it. When I picked them up afterwards they looked very smart. Their hair was trimmed to perfection, their ears were nice and clean, and their claws nicely trimmed. They also smelt wonderful. Thanks so much team; you are amazing!!

I took my dog here for the first time after a negative experience at another establishment. I used their “contact us” form and received a phone call very quickly with availability the next day. When we arrived, they greeted both myself and my dog, giving him lots of pats and praise. I really appreciated this as it made it seem like he was not just another groom. The groomer took the time to explain the entire process to me and ask specific questions about how my dog would handle certain aspects. I felt very confident leaving him in their hands, that he was not going to be further traumatised. After 1.5 hours, I got a call for pick up. The groomer explained everything they ended up doing, including what he was and was not comfortable with. Overall an extremely positive experience and my dog has never smelled as clean as he does now. We will definitely be back.
